Roger Federer had a smooth sail in the quarter final match of Wimbledon 2009. The World No. 2 defeated Croatia’s 22nd seed, Ivo Karlovic, to reach the semi final match. This win indicates that the second seed has reached the semi final match in the 4 grand slams for the 21st time. He secured a powerful 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 to win against Karlovic.
When asked about the victory, he replied “I guess I can't really be any higher or confident after winning in Paris. Maybe I could have been even more confident if I had won last year. Either way a semi-final is always going to be difficult but I have got there now and I am happy about that."
